Ngayong quarantine, matumal ang trabaho ng mga artista given the social distancing rules at ang patuloy na dumadami na kaso ng COVID-19 sa bansa. Some, like Benjamin Alves, choose to be active sa social media accounts nila. Pero me iba na gaya ni Joshua Garcia eh July 7 pa ang last post. Ano nga ba ang pinagkakaabalahan ng dalawa?

 Gaya ng kapwa Kapuso artist na si Alden Richards, naglalaro na rin ng Mobile Legends si Benjamin. Sa post ng isang netizen named Jerence Velasquez na finafollow niya, may screenshot ng game results kasama ang GF ng actor na si Chelsea Robato.

 Palung-palo si Paolo Contis sa pagpapakita ng acting chops niya sa Netflix. Sakto kasing halos magkasunod lumabas sa streaming giant ang movies in which he had main roles. Ito ay ang Nitong July 11 lang ay nag-Top 1 and Top 2 pa ang mga ito bilang most-viewed na mga palabas sa PH.

 In the former he plays a comedic role as newcomer Nicoy sa isang grupo ng holduppers na kilala sa kanilang pagiging sobrang palpak. Sa fictional Barangay Husay kung saan ang primary profession ay panghoholdap ang pangunahing setting ng film and they will try to redeem the tarnished reputation of the group sa pamamagitan ng pagnanakaw ng golden etits ni Datu Puti.

 Napakalakas ng chemistry niya with Alessandra and you will end up rooting for both of the characters.

Bagaman glowing ang reviews ng two films na ito ay nag-flop pa rin sila sa box office kaya mostly film aficionados and movie reviewers lang ang nakaappreciate nito.

 Kapag narinig mo ang name na Alden Richards, Maine Mendoza at Kathryn Bernardo usually ang next proper nouns na unang maiisip mo? Kapag Mobile Legends  ML naman isa sa common nouns 'o most searched words na kasunod nito ay "lag", o ang pagiging slow ng game leading to kawalan ng kontrol dahil sa problematic internet connection.

 Kilala si Alden na kalmadong tao at good boy ang image. All of his projects aside from 1 film ay mabait ang role niya.

Nag-level up na sa kanyang gaming hobby


Almost 4 hours ang livestream na I think lumagpas sa target niya na three hours so yung mga pa-raffle niyang gadgets imbes na live ay sa Eat Bulaga kinabukasan na lang dinraw. Yes, ganyan siya kaseryosong gamer.

 Gaano kagaling? Well, imagine lag siya 5-1-8 and KDA niya sa isang portion ng laro na kunot-noo siya because of the inconvenience. Ang ibig sabihin, 5 kills, 1 death, and 8 assists siya during that time.

Isa sa pinakaabangan ng marami kasabay ng rebranding ng TV5 as One TV ay ang pagstart ng 'My Extra Ordinary', isang Pinoy BL series coming this 2020. Main cast members dito sina Darwin Yu (Shake), Enzo Santiago (Ken), and Karissa Toliongco.

 Handog ng Asterisk Digital Entertainment, shooting will start on July 12 under the direction of Jolo Atienza.

  
The story revolves around the amnesia of Shake and how he meets Ken na tutulungan siya marecover ang memory niya.






CENTERSTAGE: Hello Stranger

Tony Labusca and JC Alcantara



 Hello Stranger! ay isang Pinoy BL series produced by ABS-CBN Films and Black Sheep Productions. Bida sina Tony Labrusca as Xavier, a varsity player who often fails his classes, at si JC Alcantara as Mico, member ng Team Padawans, at isang top student. The first episode is titled 'Hello Enemy!'.

Ang context ng filming ay interesting  because it is obvious that this was done even before nagshift sa GCQ ang bansa  since all of the cast members' scenes were done in their respective rooms. Hopefully, since pwede na ulit magshooting, we will be able to see scenes in outside places like coffee shops, since that is where students hang out.

My first impression of Tony as Xav is that though he has the usual pride of a varsity player, he can be sweet like the type who cooks for his partner. JC as Mico is the type of person who is an open book, his nervousness, his awkwardness, it is all obvious on his face.

 Aside from the two main guys, we have thr Team Padawans comprised of Vivoreei Esclito as Kookai, Patrick Quiroz as Seph, and Miguel Almendras as Junjun. Xavier currently has a girlfriend named Crystal, played by Gillian Villavicencio.

A new Pinoy BL Loveteam
Episode 1 is how Xavier and Mico meet each other and size each other up. The scenes that stood out for me are as follows:

 1. When Xav enters the virtual room of the Team Padawans having a quiz night and calls it baduy, giving that douche vibe instantly.

 2. Meann Espinosa as Panitikan 1 teacher Kristine Moran convincing Mico to team up with Xavier. Her voice sounds like Ruffa Gutierrez so before her face is even 

shown onscreen, people who watched her past shows would be able to recognize her.

 3. Xavier eating a huge bowl of tinola by himself. Yep, it is so huge that I think it can feed up to five people.

4. Mico saying I need you and it is just episode 1.

 The first episode ends in a cute cliffhanger as Xavier asks Mico an intriguing question.

 What think that could be improved is the acting of Patrick Quiroz since it feels as if he is just in a first time cast reading. The chemistry of the whole Team Padawans also need to improve as well as the world-


building of Hello Stranger, since the logic is still not 100% convincing as to why freshie and a senior student would have to work in the same subject as well as why Mico is not aware that he is a top student in the first place.

 Since this is marketed as BL and it has international fans, I think the reach of the show is big because of the good decision to have English subtitles available right away.

The show is available via the youtube channel of Black Sheep as well as the iWant app.

Angel Locsin: Hindi takot tawaging terorista

 Kapag pinagdikit mo ang mga salitang "artista" at "charity", dalawa malamang ang top names at the back of your mind: Angel Locsin and Willie Revillame.

 However, though si Kuya Wil ay namimigay ng sandamakmak na pera for decades now, a large portion nito ay galing sa sponsors niya. Si Angel ay mistulang anghel sa lupa dahil napakahands-on niya tumulong to the point na pumupunta siya sa delikadong lugar like nung kakasabog lang ng Taal. Ang pangdonate niya ay usually nanggagaling talaga sa bulsa niya and during some occasions ay nagoorganize siya ng fundraising campaigns for bigger projects kagaya nitong sa pandemic na kinakaharap natin now.

 Kahit na may banta ng anti-terror bill ay napakavocal ng pag-oppose ni Angel Locsin dito, which goes to show na mapasa man ito ay di mawawala ang passion niya for helping others kahit na branded na leftist itong mga ito, matawag man siyang terorista.

 Isa sa nag-viral recently ay ang ginawa niya kay Tatay Elmer na 72 years old from Piston 6 na nakulong. Tinulungan nila ito ni Bea Alonzo by sending him alcohol, face masks, and vitamins while in detention. Secret lang ito dapat but Tatay Elmer revealed it kasi gusto talaga silang pasalamatan.

 "Hi Sen @sotto_tito, saw that you liked this tweet. I will never support terrorists, nor will I ever support any kind of violence. You have the right to like any tweet. And we have the right to voice out our opinions. I hope we don’t get tagged as terrorist for doing so. Thank you," said Angel.

 In 10 hours ay naka-1.2 million views agad ang Wishclusive Wish Bus performance ni Kim Chiu, na tinawag na quarantine pop star ng ilan. Record-breaking ang 'Bawal Lumabas' given the timeframe although hindi na bago para sa isang Wish Bus performance ang magkaroon ng millions of views within a week of uploading.

Isa pang record ang binreak nito sa pagiging most disliked video sa Pilipinas at almost 350k views as of writing. 337k dislikes lang kasi ang video ng episode ni Raffy Tulfo at ng guro na gusto niya sanang matanggal ang lisensya dati, pero lamang na lamang ang ratio ng dislikes ni Kim kasi 7.3 million views itong isa.

 Kahit si Xander Ford na isa sa most-disliked personalities sa bansa ay wala sa kalingkingan ng dislikes ni Kim. "Hold my classroom," as the joke goes.

 Unang-una, I have to agree with the negative commenters na sintunado siya. Kaya kasi sumikat ang Wish Bus ay dahil sa standard nila pagdating sa mga pinagpeperform nila dito na mostly ay up-and-coming OPM artists, yung full of talent pero hindi mainstream. Para sa akin, hindi pasok sa standard ng Wish Bus si Kim Chiu so I do not know what she is doing there.

I don't wanna conclude na because 5 digits lang ang views ng karamihan ng videos na inupload nila this month instead of 6 digits kaya naisipan nilang sumakay sa trend for once. Pwede naman nilang inimbita na lang ulit ang banda ni Cong TV na COLN, si Skusta Clee, o si Emman Nimedez na may wish sa kanyang Twitter account na makakanta sa Wish 107.5. Isa nga sa naging basehan sa dislikes ng mga tao ay the fact na Emman, who makes decent music and can sing well, ay di pa iniinvite sa Wish Bus, pero si Kim na obviously kailangan pa ng voice lessons got there first.

 Ang isang palaisipan ay why hindi nakacredit si DJ Squammy, who turned the viral video into a song with his beats in the first place. Dahil ba hindi siya kilala? Did Kim Chiu buy him out para di na niya habulin ang proper credit? Ano ba ang naging deal kaya nila ng Star Music?

Yes, I am aware na full mention si Kim sa vlog niya kay DJ Squammy but sana maaalala nila na if he didn't do the parody, the full song ay hindi mag-eexist in the first place.

 Give credit where credit is due. Hindi lang yan para Kay DJ Squammy, but sana mas bigyan ng venue ang better OPM songs and artists.

 Hindi kailangan ng Wish Bus makipagsabayan sa trending kasi sila mismo ang may kaya magpatrending.

 Proof? Ilan sa above 10M views nila na videos ay from artists na hindi mainstream like Chocolate Factory, Allmo$t, Magnus Haven, Kiyo and Allison, and Michael Dutchi.
