Ginanap ang press preview ng Tabing Ilog: The Musical na remake ng hit 90's ABS-CBN teen series.

I was expecting na baka boring & baka makatulog ako kaya nagdadalawang isip ako na matulog sa harap pero ni 1 second di ako naidlip. Naaliw ako ng husto. I fell in love with the music of Vincent De Jesus (music & lyrics arrangement & musical direction).

Grabe, those songs were so catchy. Hanga ako kay Jade Castro who penned the musical oh how he adapted this, andun pa rin yung puso't magic ng series with injecting the current social issues. Yun nga lang the production design is just so-so.


Mahusay din ang mga theater actors who preformed on stage — Miah Canton (George), Vino Mabalot (Fonzy), Teetin Villanueva (Corrinne), Krystal Kane (Jerry), Noel Comia (Sammy), Francos Ramos (Ely), Jojit Lorenzo & Agot Isidro and the one who got my heart, Ian Pangilinan who played the iconic TV character Rovic, na napakahusay at charming. Kita mo sa performance niya ang kanyang theater experience. He deserves to be a leading man on TV/film.

Instead daw ma-pressure for playing a role who originally played by John Lloyd Cruz ay sinigurado nya na mabibigyan ng justice ang role ni Rovic.

"Siyempre marami pong pressure with regards to the role,” said Ian. “So ang iniisip ko na lang talaga, I wanna make sure na ang character ni John Lloyd is given justice, na di siya nagiging villain, na hindi siya somebody na nagiging one dimentional lang.”

And IN ALL FAIRNESS, di rin nagpahuli ang mga Ex-PBB Otso Housemates. Nasa kanila yung kaba ko kasi ayaw ko sila mapahiya and I was really rooting for them.

Noong una ko makita sa PBB itong si Batit Espiritu ay napa-eeeewww ako as in di ko talaga sya bet, (forgive me, I’m just being me, Byxie Marie that you love) pero dito sa musical na itey love na love ko na siya. 

If there’s one character na talagang tumatak sa akin, si Badong yun. Di ko alam may tinatagong talento sa pag-arte, pagpapatawa at pagpapakilig. Yes, may chemistry sila ni Kiara (Eds) at may chemistry din sya sa isa pang character.

And speaking of Kiara, press members were so impressed on her role as Eds.  May laban si ate mong girl when it comes to acting.

"I am mixed emotion. Actually, sobrang woooooh!!!," sigaw ni Kiara. "Kinakabahan po talaga ako kasi 1st time ko pa, napakalaking tiwala na pinagkaloob po nila so gusto ko talagang matuwa sila. So parang happy ako kasi finally nagawa namin yung ganito.”
