Hiwalay na, goodbye MayWard?

Maymay Entrata and Edward Barbers

Followers of Maymay Entrata and Edward Barbers are asking if they are still together or if they have gone separate ways? Well, if you look at Maymay’s Instagram post dated Feb 22, it says that “love is built on trust…”. This left her fans worried and suspecting at the same time that this could be a hint na something might be bothering her.

He also mentioned how Anne dealt with her pregnancy journey from the beginning until she gave birth. “I also had no idea that I could fall more in love with my wife. Anne was so impressive throughout her pregnancy and labor and I will forever be in her debt.” Awww, how sweet!

An angel, Dahlia Amelie

Hintayin na lang natin ang pagbabalik ni Anne, I’m sure maraming kuwento ang aktres-TV host about her journey to motherhood.

I’m an animal lover and animal advocate that’s why I’m really proud of Kathryn Bernado for saying yes to CARA Welfare Philippines Family. Sa kabila ng hectic niyang iskedyul bilang aktres, naglaan siya ng panahon to personally share her advocacy on how to take responsibility in owning a pet.

Kathryn Bernardo
Ayon kay Ms. Korina Sanchez, hindi raw nag dalawang isip si Kath nu’ng inimbitahan nila ang aktres to be part of CARA. Dahil diyan, Kath is now CARA’s Ambassador for Animal Welfare promoting Adopt a Cat From Kath. Layunin nito na mai-promote ang Trap-Neuter-Vaccine-Return program for community cats, Neuter is Cuter (sterilization of animals), Humane Education (animal welfare and responsible pet ownership education).

Congratulations and Mabuhay CARA Welfare Philippines!

EAT: Quan's traditional Ilongo delicacies and sud-an

A Negrense old-time favorite

Let’s go to Quan!” I remember my college friends used to say during break time in school….and that was more than two decades ago. Quan was then a small eatery that sold mostly kakanin and Ilonggo food fare—inday-inday (palitaw), sapin-sapin, maja blanca, cassava cake, ube cassava cake, panara, chicken pie, hopia, puto, puto tikoy, bibingka, suman, napoleones, pitsi-pitsi, turon, egg tart, puto pao and more.

Over the years, QUAN’s menu has developed and they now serve lunch and pinoy meryenda that suits the Ilonggo taste buds. With price that’s easy on the pocket, you may savor their delicious food selections such as Batchoy, siopao, dinuguan with puto, sisig with rice, chicken tinola, bicol express, chicken curry, and other rice meals

A family owned restaurant, this sweet kakanin story was started by the mother and daughter tandem of Agnes Cuenca and Chole Cuenca-Chua in the early 90’s. From their first store in North Drive, Bacolod City they have branched out to different areas in the city,

in Talisay and one in Makati City. While Chole takes care mostly of the marketing aspect, her mom Agnes is the one in charge of the kitchen. To ensure food safety and consistency in the taste and flavor of their products, Quan management conducts strict quality inspection on all their products.

A Bacolod home grown restaurant, Quan has maintained its quality and taste and even improved its restaurant to serve customers better. Quan’s newly renovated branch in North Drive has become more spacious and well-lit. It can seat more or less 60-70 persons. My Favorite Quan Picks?

Kansi, Negrense's own version of bulalo
Whenever I crave for Quan products, I’d go to the nearest mall where they have an outlet. I like Quan’s inday-inday (palitaw), panara and cassava cake. Aside from the kakanin, they also offer packed baked goodies like wheat bread stick, garlic stick bread, whole wheat/pesto munchies. NO SUGAR snacks are also among their best sellers. Other additions to the menu are made to order cakes, pastries and party bilao packs which are very convenient to bring to gatherings like birthdays, family occasions, and parties.

No Sud-An? Go to Quan! They also launched their ready to cook line “Sud An” (Ilonggo word for viand or ulam) packed in microwavable containers. If you are always on the go and you lack time to prepare your food yet want the taste of home cooked meals, then you can always drop by Quan. Get ready to heat viands like callos, caldereta, siomai, sisig, kare-kare, pata and lengua which are among Quan’s Sud An choices.

I was able to taste their siomai and it’s really good! One of the yummiest I’ve tried. It has lean ground pork wrapped in thick siomai wrapper. Best eaten with chili sauce, yuuum! (insert picture) Quan has outlets/branches scattered around Bacolod so even if you live quite far, don’t worry, surely there’s an outlet near you.
